Arien is very lightweight. She has to be for she doesn’t like to be tracked. She’s about 5’6" and is very quick. She’s a willing learner, if there’s something that she doesn't know then she will listen and pay attention attentively. She’s mellow but also fierce at the same time and knows not to show weakness especially in front of the enemy. Arien is strong and independent. She prefers to be alone and will spend every waking moment with the elves if she could. She is respectful calling everyone she meets My Lord or My Lady, that is how she was taught and she will not spill blood unless it is necessary.
Arien grew up in Gondor, but the city was constantly under attack and she was tired of seeing death all around her so she decided to go to Lord Elrond for his help. He recommended that she was to become a ranger so that she would have some authority over the battles that would go on and that’s exactly what she did. Arien trained long and hard with Borimir and Farimir and she became a skilled archer and learned the right way to wield a sword, but when she was to leave Gondor to try and be the ranger that she wanted to be Borimir would not let her go. She had become so good that he put her in charge of the command posts around Gondor so that she could tell soldiers where they were needed the most on the wall. Arien didn’t like the idea but she stayed…
(she left them for a long while to train with elves, where her passion lies, she loves the elves they enchant her and some of their qualities rubbed off on her. For one their accent and their language she knows very well. She is good friends with Legolas, always has been, and even more so with Aragorn. All her weapons are elvish, and her clothing, some would describe her as an elf without pointy ears for she is so beautiful that the only thing that does separate her from an elf are the ears...)
The battle at Osgiliath is where she lost her patience for Borimir and his brother. They had left a group of soldiers outside of the wall to be a distraction so that the rest could try and do a counter from the top of the wall. Arien couldn’t see all those people die just because. She left her post and fought along side the troops so that she could get as many as she could back in the fort before the doors were to close. She got them all in but she was left out. Arien fought a while longer but there were too many and she needed to find a way back in. She succeeded in getting inside but she was furious and in trouble at the same time. She confronted Borimir and Farimir, but they had no time to scold her the place was under attack still and they were breaching the wall. The time went by and finally victory was theirs, they had won the battle and she had helped those troops…
Rumors started to go around after that and all the people would hear was that a ranger left her post and didn’t follow orders from her captain, but she never spoke of it. A few years later Borimir was summoned to go to Rivindell for the council meeting and he was allowed to bring one person, and he chose her, she was of course shocked that he was asking her and not his own brother, but it was something that she needed to do so that she could go on this quest and get away from Gondor it was her chance to go out and be the ranger she trained to be…
But her plans change, during the meeting the Black Swordsman comes in and he decides to go on this quest with the rest of the fellowship including herself. They are separated from the fellowship for a while and that gave them a chance to get to know each other. He was a bit mean and too practical to her, but he had his reasons and she respected that. Little by little he starts to reveal his past to her and she begins to understand him more. Not knowing how to feel she knows that she should stay by him so that she can keep him from whatever this beast inside him is and the one thing that separates her from the rest is that she’s not afraid of him, not even a little, but she admires him for being open to her and telling her the truth about his past and she hopes that he continues to be like that with her…
